On MLK Day


The following will be closed:

  • Natomas Unified School District schools.
  • North Natomas’ community shuttle service, the Flyer.
  • North Natomas public library branch, 2500 New Market Drive.

The Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule.

The 26th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. March and Celebration will take
place on January 21. The six-mile march will begin at the Oak Park
Community Center (3425 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) at 8:30 a.m.,
travel past Sacramento City College (3835 Freeport Boulevard) at
approximately 9:15 a.m. and end at the Sacramento Convention Center
(1400 J Street) where the celebration continues. A second march from
Grant Union High School (1400 Grand Avenue) will depart at 9:15 a.m.
The celebration at the Convention Center will feature a job and health
fair; arts and crafts vendors; financial workshops; a multicultural
talent showcase; children's activities; and musical entertainment.
RT will offer supplemental bus service from the Convention Center back
to the Oak Park Community Center, Sacramento City College and Grant
Union High School beginning at 1 p.m.
