AN UNSEASONABLY COOL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL LINGER OVER NORTHERN CALIFORNIA THROUGH THE MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY WEEKEND…CAUSING CLOUDY…
COOL AND AT TIMES SHOWERY WEATHER OVER THE AREA. THERE WILL BE THE CHANCE OF MOUNTAIN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS…WITH SOME OF THE SHOWERS POSSIBLY MOVING INTO OR DEVELOPING IN THE LOWER FOOTHILL ELEVATIONS OR THE INTERIOR CENTRAL VALLEY AT TIMES.
DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN COOL OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES AS MUCH AS 10 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. TEMPERATURES OVER THE MOUNTAINS OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WILL BE MUCH COOLER THAN EXPERIENCED LAST WEEKEND WITH DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES ONLY REACHING INTO THE 40S AND 50S.
PEOPLE VENTURING OUTDOORS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS…ESPECIALLY IN THE MOUNTAINS DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS. BE PREPARED FOR COOL WEATHER AS WELL. SNOW LEVELS COULD LOWER TO AROUND 6000 FEET CAUSING SOME MINOR ACCUMULATIONS OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES.
IF THUNDERSTORMS MOVE INTO YOUR AREA…REMEMBER YOUR LIGHTNING SAFETY RULES AND WATCH OUT FOR GUSTY DOWNDRAFT WINDS AND HAIL. IF PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES ANYWHERE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA THIS WEEKEND…BE SURE TO MONITOR THE WEATHER CONDITIONS.
