A proposed anti-gang tax failed to gain enough support from Sacramento City Council members to be placed on the November ballot.
The measure needed six votes, but only had support from Mayor Heather Fargo, Kevin McCarty, Bonnie Pannell, Ray Tretheway, and Rob Fong. Council members Sandy Sheedy, Steve Cohn, Robbie Waters and Lauren Hammond voted against the the proposed tax.
NATOMAS BUZZ readers who participated in our informal poll voted 45 percent to 37 percent against the measure. Of the 81 readers who voted, 17 percent felt they needed more information before deciding whether or not they supported the tax.
