…Area residents picking wild mustard greens in open fields throughout the Natomas neighborhood. The plants — known as Indian mustard, leaf mustard, and mustard cabbage — have a distinct horseradish-mustard flavor. The leaves, seeds, and stem of this variety are edible and used in some form in African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, and Soul food cuisine.

…Some serious tumbleweed action on the northeast corner of Del Paso Road and Natomas Boulevard. The breeze is not only cooling down the temps outside, but kicking up the above-ground plants that, once mature and dry, separate from its root and rolls elsewhere in the wind.
