Sac PD continues to investigate a weekend vandalism spree in the Gateway West neighborhood which left several car tires slashed, cars and homes “egged”.
Officers responded Saturday morning to a report by a Gateway West resident who had their car tires slashed overnight. A canvass of the neighbor located a total of five cars that had tires slashed.
On Sunday night, a graveyard worked directed patrol in the same area in hopes of locating some possible suspects. The officer stopped several people but was unable to connect anything to the recent vandalism, left the area around 1:30 a.m. to handle other things and returned about 3 a.m.
“When he returned he observed about 10 cars that had been egged while he was gone,” says Capt. Daniel Hahn. “(The officer) developed some information and is following up on those leads to hopefully determine the identity of the suspect(s).”
Car tires were slashed on Stimmler, Chateau Montelena, and Poppy Hill. Eggings were also located on Myotis Drive, Screech Owl, Petrel Court, Elkart Way, Jacdaw Street, and Shrike Circle.
Says Hahn, “Officers are still following up on leads and might be able to determine who did this. In the mean time, call in all suspicious activity!”
Don’t forget the tires slashed on Chimney Rock as well as the house that had the garage door tagged … all on the same weekend.
