According to Capt. Daniel Hahn, some of the numbers are going in the right direction — down — which means Natomas neighborhoods are safer in some respects.
“But one of the major things that stands out is our vehicle crimes are still high and in some cases on the rise,” he says. “Our residential burglary rate is still fairly high.”
To combat these increases, Hahns asks the community call in suspicious activity and says police officers will work on the more frequently hit neighborhoods.
“We have recently caught several burglars from different burglaries and continue to put out our ‘bait’ cars,” he adds. “It is summer time and crime tends to rise during these months. Let’s work together to ensure crime decreases and therefore ensures our neighborhoods are safe and enjoyable.”
* These are preliminary statistics and are subject to slight changes. But, they are good for observing trends in our neighborhoods and shouldn’t change much if they change at all.
