Hi Everyone,
I am writing to you tonight to ask your help for the victims of the Auburn fire. There are 63 families and several businesses who are in great need after losing everything.
We are working with Steve Adams of Placer County Law Enforcement Chapliancy. He has shared a couple of stories with us about a couple of the victims.
One special story is about a 3-year old girl whose father just built her a playhouse in the backyard. She was only able to play in her new playhouse for one hour when the fire swept through and destroyed the family home along with her playhouse. I have committed on behalf of our wonderful, caring neighbors of Natomas to rebuild that playhouse once the residence is finished. If you would like to be one of the team who rebuilds her playhouse, please let me know.
Another story is about a young couple who had just moved into a rental property a short time before the fire struck. This young couple has an infant and a disabled grandfather who lives with them. They are now without anything for their new baby, their disabled grandfather, or themselves. They are in need of EVERYTHING.
If you can help them or the other victims we will be accepting donations at the Natomas Police and Community Resource Center located at 2701 Del Paso Rd., Suite 104 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
They are in need of diapers, baby furniture, toys, children’s books, school supplies, clothes (adult, children, and infants), toiletries, food, household items such as blankets, towels, etc. They also are in need of laptop computers. You may also donate gift cards to be given to the families to buy what they need. If you have furniture to donate please call Janice at 224-9362 to make arrangements.
If you would like to contribute money you may do that 3 ways:
