An eager group of Natomas residents gathered for the fifth, in a series of six “Neighborhood Rides” in late September to travel and explore the bike paths in and around North Natomas.
The rides, sponsored by the North Natomas TMA and led by the Heritage Park Bike Club have produced some newly confident cyclists that are now much more knowledgeable about getting around on our great bike system. The rides haven’t always stuck to just the neighborhood though and some rides have participants a bit farther afield.
Ride participants have gone to Miller Park for a catered breakfast, around the airport with a stop along the river for eats, Rio Linda and Jimmy’s Donuts, from Davis to Winters for breakfast, and most recently, gotten to know the bike paths on the west side of I-5.
For those hardier riders, the October adventure will travel across the San Francisco Bay by ferry and back across the Golden Gate Bridge – all by bicycle of course. This 30-mile ride will test your mettle, but be a great celebration for all, as Natomas residents continue to meet and enjoy our neighbors, while powering ourselves along by bike.
