The Los Rios Community College District board of trustees will make a provisional appointment to fill the Area 1 Trustee vacancy created by the resignation of Ann Blackwood who resigned from the Board on September 30 due to a job related move out-of-state.
The vacancy will be advertised and those interested in applying will need to submit an application for appointment. To be considered for appointment an individual must be a resident of Area 1, a registered voter, and be qualified to vote in Area 1.
Area 1 includes the northwest part of Sacramento City and County including Del Paso Heights, Elverta, Rio Linda, North Highlands and Natomas.
The deadline for submitting an application is 5 p.m. Nov. 5. Interested candidates may pick up an application at the Los Rios Community College District Chancellor’s Office, 1919 Spanos Court, can request a mailed copy by calling the office at 568-3021, or can download from the district’s website.
The Los Rios Board will hold an information workshop for candidates 6 p.m. this Thursday, at the Natomas Education Center, 2421 Del Paso Road. To meet Education Code requirements, an appointment must be made by November 30. The person appointed to the position will serve until the November 2010 General Election.
