Sac PD believes they have in custody the person responsible for a series of burglaries that plagued the NP3 and Westlake Charter schools campus on Del Paso Road during the months of October and November.
The schools were burglarized several times with personal electronics and school computer equipment among the items stolen. Parents and staff rallied to patrol the school in an effort to prevent future burglaries.
“Last week, detectives were able to connect several of the burglaries to a 14 yr. old subject that was already in custody for armed robbery,” wrote police Capt. Daniel Hahn in an e-blast to area residents. “He was additionally charged with four of the burglaries to the charter school.”
The boy was previously arrested for a robbery on 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 29, 2009 at Walgreens on Del Paso Road. He reportedly robbed a woman in her car at gun point as she was in the store parking lot.
“He was still in custody for the robbery when he was charged with the additional burglaries,” wrote Hahn. “There haven’t been any further burglaries to the charter schools.”
