City officials and volunteers next month will build a community garden at Sparrow Drive and the future Natomas Crossing Road, west side of I-5 in Natomas.
The long-term, temporary garden is expected to occupy the spot until the road is constructed which is not expected for several years. The garden is will have 12 beds, depending on demand, a small box for keeping gardening tools and a locked gate. Plots will be available to neighbors and students at the Witter Ranch Elementary School.
