“May is Bike Month” has wrapped up and as of last week’s counts Natomas-area schools logged 27,000-plus miles – 2,500 more than last year.

- Witter Ranch Elementary – 3,413 miles
- Westlake Charter – 1,747 miles
- H. Allen Hight – 3,672 miles
- Heron School – 3,727 miles
- Natomas Park Elementary – 3,164 miles
- Leading Edge – 2,463 miles
- Performing and Fine Arts Academy – 1,453 miles
Thirty cyclists attended the North Natomas Transportation Management Association’s bike month breakfast this year. Some participants were headed to work and some taking leisurely rides, but all stopped to eat pick up their “May Is Bike Month” t-shirts, new Natomas bike trail maps, and bike trek information. One group continued cycling all the way downtown to the Capitol Bikefest.
Cyclists continued to log miles over the three-day Memorial Day weekend that helped the region to surpass its ONE MILLION mile goal. Way to go!
