The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced today Natomas residents will be eligible in 2011 and 2012 to purchase a preferred risk flood insurance policy.

Do you have a link to the FEMA announcement?

AWESOME. This is really, really big news. That’s easily $1,500 or so over two years that Natomas homeowners won’t have to spend.

GREAT! Our rate went up for 2010! ALOT! Can you post any official info on this?

  4. From Congresswoman Dori Matsui’s office:

We have requested the official notification from FEMA for Natomas residents that they can have for their records and for their insurance companies. I will pass that long as soon as we have it.

In the meantime, constituents are welcome to call the Congresswoman’s office with any questions – but I think it is important to reiterate that it is effective January 1, 2011. So they will need to have this in hand when they renew their policy. And it will be extended for 2011 and 2012.
