The Random Beak reports randomly regarding uncommon eats, ranging from bargain citrus in Newcastle to a Panderia in Rio Linda.
A NATOMAS BUZZ reader recommended Ludy’s BBQ in Woodland as family friendly a few weeks ago so Random Beak decided to check it out.
Located on Main Street right next to the old Opera House, it’s a bit of a drive but perfect for a weekend adventure or if you are already in Woodland on a Costco run. Generous dining room and patio, kids menu, cheerful servers and very clean.
Random Beak had the Tri Tip salad for lunch which was a generous serving of greens, cheddar cheese and veggies. I dribbled Ludy’s excellent BBQ sauce over the smoky, tender meat instead of the salsa and left with a happy tummy.
Random Beak definitely wants to go back for the hickory smoked prime rib on Friday and Saturday. Check out the rest of the menu here.
