Candidates for Natomas board faced off for the second time in two weeks during a student-sponsored event held last night at the Benvenuti Performing Arts Center.
Event coordinators estimated between 160-180 people attended the 1 ½-hour long event. Natomas Charter School students asked candidates several questions including why they were running for school board, their thoughts on recently adopted national education standards, Natomas schools’ focus on standardized test scores, candidates’ views on charter schools, and how to mend the school district’s current financial woes.
Natomas and Westlake charter school parents earned parent-participation credit for attending the event.
