Natomas Charter Competes For Grant

Natomas Charter School needs community votes to help win a Pepsi Refresh All national contest and $25,000 grant.
If the school places in the top 10 and wins a grant, the money will be used to promote peace, tolerance and understanding among different people and cultures through the arts.
The school plans to continue its One Voice project designed to unite teens in the U.S. with those in Turkey. Grant money will also help the school to bring its original, multimedia production of One Voice to the Kennedy Performing Arts Center in Washington, D.C. next year.

“It’s heartening, in light of recent events in this country, to know that youth can create a project that generates such a

positive message for peace and understanding among different people and cultures,” said Ting Sun, Educational
Programs Director at Natomas Charter.
At press time, Natomas Charter School – the only arts project in the Sacramento area competing for the Pepsi Refresh contest this month – was in 17th place.
Vote online by clicking here, or by text message “105107” to 73774 (PEPSI). One vote per day allowed. Voting ends Jan. 31.
