Councilwoman Angelique Ashby’s office helped us get an answer from Zuhair Amawi in the city’s Department of Transportation about stalled construction on the pedestrian/bicycle bridge over Interstate 80, which started in June 2010.
According to Amawi, work on the project is scheduled to resume May 1 and the bridge completed by September 2011. Construction stopped temporarily – a winterization period – in compliance with the environmental guidelines set forth by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for the Giant Garter Snake habitat in the area.
What is the status of the Valley Oak Park project? Will that ever start?
