SIGNAL LIGHTS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON THE WEST EL CAMINO/I-80 OVERPASS, BUT ARE CURRENTLY COVERED WITH BURLAP. |
What happened to the progress on the signal lights going in at the bridge crossing the 80 between Orchard and El Centro?
“The West El Camino Signalization Project was winterized and is scheduled for completion in late March. In March we expect warm weather so we can place the final lift of asphalt and striping. However, this week (weather permitting) the electrical conduit is scheduled to be attached under the bridge during the night hours. This work will require a lane closure on I-80 under the bridge. Once this conduit is placed and secured, the traffic signals will be turned on.”
So does this mean they don’t work during the winter? When does “winterization” start/end and what does it entail?
