At about 12:46 a.m. this morning police officers responded to a call of gun shots heard near the 3200 block of Northgate Boulevard. Police arrived and found a 19-year-old man who had been shot. The Sacramento Fire Department later declared the man dead at the scene.
Based on the preliminary investigation by homicide detectives and crime scene investigators, it is believed a large crowd of people were hanging out in the parking lot of a bar when the victim was shot. It is unknown what prompted the shooting; the victim’s name has not been released.
