Ever wonder about those colorful placards posted in the windows of your favorite Natomas eateries?
Now reports for the more than 6,000 food facilities with operating permits in Sacramento are available online. The reports detail whether food safety standards are being met at restaurants, bars, grocery stores, convenience stores, and school cafeterias.
Natomas-area residents can search the most recent food facility inspection information with the click of a button. Patrons can search reports by the facility name, partial address or even zip code. (Some food facility categories, specifically mobile food vehicles and temporary events, are not included on this site.)
Information is updated weekly and is current through July 11.
In January 2007, Sacramento County became the first in the state to use color-coded placards to display inspection results for food facilities. The placards are meant to help restaurant patrons make informed decisions before entering and eating food prepared at a licensed food facility.
