The young participants who attended the River Church and Adventure Church of Natomas’ Vacation Bible School program last week raised more than $1,500 to help area homeless children, it was announced during services today.
The children who attended the week-long “Big Apple Adventure” program at Inderkum High School collected coins as well as pledges for a hoop-a-thon to raise money for the Mustard Seed School. The $1,540 collected will be used to buy bus tokens to help homeless children get to the school for classes.
Vacation Bible School participants also donated enough travel-size personal hygiene items to make 100 kits for homeless children. Nearly 300 elementary school-age children attended the Vacation Bible School.
