New Fire Station No. 43 may have gone online last month, but Natomas residents will officially celebrate its completion at a ribbon-cutting event set for next weekend.
THE NATOMAS BUZZ stopped by to get a sneak peek of the two-story facility that’s being called the Sacramento Fire Department’s “flagship” station.
Three shifts of four fire fighters work at the station, rotating 48 hours on duty with 96-hour breaks in between shifts. Capt. Luchini, pictured, was in charge the day THE NATOMAS BUZZ visited.
Fire Station No. 43 is located at 4201 El Centro Road, just north of Arena Boulevard. It joins stations No. 3, No. 15, No. 18 and No. 30 serving the greater Natomas area.
Grand-opening festivities are scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. Tours, Sparky the fire dog, refreshments and more are planned. For more info call (916) 808-1357.
