Girl Scout Troop No. 994 celebrated World Water Monitoring Day August 10 north of San Francisco.
The Natomas residents used water testing kits to check the ocean water’s ph levels and environmental safety at Muir Beach as part of an environmental take action project. The girls are working to earn a “Girl Scouts Forever Green” patch commemorating the 100th anniversary of Girls Scouts.
“They are given over a year to complete the patch since it is so involved,” troop leader Debbie Kemper said.
