Longtime principal Brent Johnson was the guest of honor during a reception held yesterday, Feb. 29 at Natomas Park Elementary School.
Dozens of student, teachers, parents, and former students attended the reception for Johnson, who has been principal at the Natomas school since it opened 12 years ago. Johnson, pictured here with school secretary Joyce Bianci, donned the same colorful tie he wore the day the school opened.
Johnson is leaving the K-6 campus to work in the Natomas Unified School District office as the new director of Student and Support Services. In his new post, Johnson will implement a “Safe and Civil Schools” program planned for 2012-13, manage inter- and intra-district transfers, meet with parents, oversee student suspensions and expulsions, manage the “Student Code of Conduct Handbook,” and K-8 enrollment.
Natomas Park Elementary School students last week paid tribute to their beloved principal during “Dress Like Mr. Johnson Day.”
