Elderberry Park will get some much needed TLC this weekend during a volunteer-driven “replanting party” planned for Sunday, April 1.
Volunteers are needed to replant trees donated by the Sacramento Tree Foundation as well as shrubs. Volunteers will also weed and mulch around trees. The event is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the park, 2850 Macon Drive.
This 2.86-acre park is a workhorse of the neighborhood. Organizations such as Girl Scouts, North Natomas Little League and South Natomas Soccer Club use this park and its facilities.
Elderberry Park features a soccer field, children’s play area, picnic area and two half-court basketball courts.
The replanting party event is sponsored by City Councilwoman Angelique Ashby, District 1, the Sacramento Tree Foundation and City of Sacramento Parks Division.
