Three Free Sessions Offered

The City of Sacramento’s Solid Waste and Recycling Division is offering a free backyard composting seminar Saturday, April 14 in Natomas.
Session participants will receive:
- A free Kitchen Composter
- A free Backyard Composting Guide
- A discount on a compost bin from participating Home Depot stores
Backyard composting is a process where you recycle your yard clippings, fruit and vegetable scraps into a valuable soil nutrient, right in your own yard. It is a great way to save money, reduce the amount of waste that is disposed and improve the quality of the soil.
Three seminar sessions will be offered Saturday 8 a.m. to 8:40 a.m., 8:40 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. to 10 a.m. All sessions are scheduled to be held at Sparrow Community Garden, 3219 Sparrow Drive.
