Congresswoman Doris Matsui and Senator Dianne Feinstein will tour Natomas levees at 2 p.m. today, April 10.
“The Natomas Levee Improvement Project is a critical public safety effort that will protect 100,000 people, create over 2,500 jobs, and ensure our community is safe from disaster; it cannot be delayed,” said Matsui. “Senator Feinstein has been a consistent supporter of Sacramento’s flood protection projects and the NLIP, and I am glad we have this opportunity to tour the levees and continue to highlight the need for the project.”
In November 2011, Feinstein introduced Senate companion legislation to Matsui’s H.R. 433, the Natomas Basin Flood Protection Improvements Act. Feinstein serves as Chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development Appropriations.
