Qdoba Mexican Grill in Natomas has closed – again.
Signage for the Mexican-style eatery located in the Park Place I shopping center was seen coming down Monday, July 9.
By day’s end the Qdoba logo still appeared on the building where it faces Del Paso Road, but the restaurant was no longer listed on the corporate website and a simple “closed for business” sign had been posted in the window at 2281 Del Paso Road, Suite 100.
Qdoba opened at that location in September 2011 more than a year after the Qdoba Mexican Grill located on North Freeway Boulevard closed its doors in early 2010.
New signage hints at – and the chain’s corporate website confirms – a Freebirds World Burrito restaurant set to open at the Park Place I location previously occupied by Qdoba. Freebirds is scheduled to open for business August 27 14, according to the website.
Freebirds eatery specializes in flame-broiled chicken and steak burritos as well as vegetarian options. Other locations in the region include Roseville, Elk Grove, Folsom and Vacaville.
Thanks for the tip, J.J.!
