Back-to-school night is a sure sign for students and parents that classes are back in session.

Natomas High School will host back-to-school night 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6.

“It is one of my favorite nights of the year, the new school clothes still haven’t completely broken in, everyone has high hopes for the new year, and studies show that the connection between the family and the school can be the make it or break it difference maker for student performance,” said Principal John Eick in a ConnectEd message to parents.

Back-to-school night is a way for teachers to meet their students’ parents and guardians, and answer questions about the curriculum, graduation requirements, and more.

“There is something magical that happens when parents and guardians meet the teachers who teach their students – all of a sudden we are all on the same team,” Eick said. “In just over an hour, you can make a major impact on how your student does in school.”

Student Link Crew members will also be on hand to answer questions for freshmen during back-to-school night. Link Crew is a group of juniors and seniors who mentor six to 10 students and coordinate activities throughout the year to help freshmen meet people and get used to being in high school.
