A new Buffalo Wild Wings will open before Christmas in Natomas.
City officials today confirmed a building permit was issued for the much-anticipated project late Friday.
“The city is happy to see this new restaurant replacing a space that’s been vacant for over two and a half years,” Principal Planner Gregory Bitter said. “Buffalo Wild Wings will be a good addition to the Promenade at Sacramento Gateway shopping center as well as the City of Sacramento.”
Sources tell THE NATOMAS BUZZ a lease deal two years in the making is being finalized for 3600 North Freeway Boulevard in the Promenade shopping center. Plans are for the restaurant to open for business on Dec. 16.
“We are delighted to welcome another great business to Natomas that will not only be a source of jobs for our community, but will provide another fun and family friendly option for Natomas folks to hang out, relax, and enjoy themselves, all while supporting our local economy,” Vice Mayor Angelique Ashby said.
Promenade property manager CB Richard Ellis had no comment on the project.
Minnesota-based Buffalo Wild Wings submitted plans for a brand-new, sit-down eatery to the city in June. Hiring for the a manager started last month.
Buffalo Wild Wings plans to operate a full-service, sit-down restaurant with a full bar and about four video games. The eatery would be open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week.
As proposed, the defunct Center Court with C-Webb building will be divided into two different tenant spaces with Buffalo Wild Wings occupying the larger 6,280 square foot portion – about 80 percent of the building – as well as the adjacent, existing outdoor patio space.
The restaurant would have the capacity to seat 358 diners.
Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There are currently 839 Buffalo Wild Wings locations – including restaurants in Citrus Heights and Folsom – across 48 states in the United States and in Canada.
The Buffalo Wild Wings menu includes the chain’s trademark wings, ribs, sandwiches, burgers and more. The restaurant also plans to serve a full line of alcoholic drinks.
Center Court with C-Webb has sat vacant since closing in November 2009.
