Friday night lights will burn bright in Natomas when Inderkum and Natomas host simultaneous home football games.

No. 14 ranked Inderkum will host Spanish Springs from Sparks, Nevada as the Nighthawks will play their first home game with Jeff Remington as the head coach.

It was a solid week for the Inderkum girl’s golf team when they beat Yuba City on Tuesday.

Inderkum

Football: The Tigers get back on the home field after a bye week. Led by running backs Josh Montes and Eric Walters on offense and Dedric Allen on defense, Inderkum hosts Spanish Springs from Sparks, Nevada at 7:30 p.m. The Cougars are 2-0 this season.

Girl’s Volleyball: The Tigers have had a rough go at it so far this season in the win column, but played tough as the team opened the season with three matches in four days. The Tigers played Woodcreek Wednesday night in Roseville and will play at Franklin on Tuesday, Sept. 11 before getting to perform in front of a home crowd next Thursday against McClatchy.

Boy’s Soccer: Tigers will play in the TigerNation Tournament this weekend and will host Cristo Rey and West Campus next week.

Girl’s Golf: Tigers beat Yuba City Tuesday with a total team score of 289-314.

Natomas

Football: Last Friday’s loss was not what new head coach Jeff Remington was hoping for in his first game at the helm for the Nighthawks. Natomas will host Dixon Friday night in the 2012 home opener at 7:30 p.m.

Girl’s Volleyball: Team played Rio Linda on the road Tuesday. Night Hawks host Center on Sept. 11 and play a road match against Antelope on Sept. 13.

Boy’s Soccer: Nighthawks dropped to 0-3 on the season with a home loss (5-1) to West Campus. The team will be on the road Friday at Vacaville.

Girl’s Golf: Nighthawks lost to Woodland on Wednesday with a team score of 286-340.
