Non-profit Lights of Tomorrow will host a town hall meeting with Natomas Unified School District superintendent Chris Evans this weekend.
Natomas-area young people and their parents are invited to attend the informal session 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at the South Natomas Library.
Participants will have the chance to ask Evans questions about the direction of Natomas schools and his vision for the area’s youth. Light refreshments will be provided.
Lights of Tomorrow was founded by Natomas resident Monica Jones to empower young women ages 11 years to 24 years old and provide the know-how to transition from middle school, to high school and on to college. The non-profit group strives to reduce high school dropout rates, teen pregnancy, violence, incarceration, drug use and abuse through a series of workshops presented with community partner groups.
The library is located at 2901 Truxel Road. For more information about the town hall or Lights of Tomorrow, contact Jones at (916) 225-5735.
