Two men who had been holed up in a condominium unit at 2001 Club Center Drive for more than two hours surrendered at about 6:15 p.m., said Sacramento Police spokesperson Michele Gigante.

Primary suspect 33-year-old Kiyen Matthews and a second man Daniel Wilson, 28, were both arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail, according to Gigante.

Sheriff spokesman Deputy Jason Ramos said deputies arrived at the condominium to arrest Matthew, who was wanted for several felonies. At about 3:45 p.m. a woman leaving the residence confirmed the suspect was inside with Wilson. Both men were believed to be armed and dangerous, Ramos said.

When the two men barricaded themselves inside the residence, Sheriff’s deputies worked with Sacramento Police officers to evacuate neighboring residents under shield while roads leading to the area – including Natomas Boulevard and Club Center Drive – were blocked off to traffic. Traffic was delayed for for commuters returning home from work.

SWAT teams were on standby when the two men left the condominium and surrendered on their own, Gigante said. Two guns found inside the residence, she added.
