Inderkum High School student Carl Mims received a framed print of his winning artwork, used in the 2012 Sacramento County Academic Decathalon poster and other promotional materials, at an awards banquet held last night.
The 33rd annual Sacramento County Academic Decathlon, held Feb. 2 at Inderkum, drew hundreds of high school students, teachers, and community volunteers. The academic competition is open to high school students from all school districts in Sacramento County. This year’s theme was “Russia.”
Last night’s banquet honored the competition’s top finishers. Bella Vista High School won first placeand moves on to the state finals.
Inderkum finished in 16th place out of 21 schools that competed. Student Charnpreet Singh was the school’s top scorer and received the team leadership award.
