Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep charter schools will implement the Pre-Advanced Placement program “SpringBoard” beginning with the 2013-2014 school year.
SpringBoard is a college readiness program for students in grades 6–12. The research-based program is aligned with Common Core State Standards and based on the College Board Standards for College Success. It is used in over 1,000 schools across the nation, by more than one million students.
NP3 will offer the program to students beginning in grade 6. SpringBoard gives teachers resources meant to help build students’ critical thinking skills in reading, writing and mathematics. SpringBoard combines activities and strategies to support student success.
SpringBoard was picked by NP3 after careful review of the program’s features and student achievement in districts which used it.
NP3 High School currently offers eight Advanced Placement classes, including biology, calculus, English language and composition, English literature and composition, environmental science, U.S. and comparative government classes and and U.S. History.
Starting fall 2013, NP3 will offer three additional AP classes in physics, studio art and world history.
