A new fountain has been donated to the Natomas Rose Garden to replace the one damaged earlier this month by vandals.

The first fountain paid for with funds raised by garden volunteers was toppled on June 10, causing about $3,000 in damages. It has been replaced with a new, 6-foot fixture donated by Pottery World in Rocklin, according to garden founder and volunteer coordinator Marni Leger.

The fountain will be the centerpiece of a dedication ceremony planned for 6 p.m. on June 30. A champagne reception will follow the fountain dedication and from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. followed by the first-ever Argentine milonga in a rose garden deejayed by Michelle Gorre.

“Better lighting and surveillance in the rose garden has moved to the top of our wish list,” said Leger.

The Natomas Rose Garden is located at 2921 Truxel Road, next to the Fort Natomas Playground. To learn more about the Natomas Rose Garden visit http://natomasrosegarden.org.
