Two dozen stuff animals took over the library during a special “sleepover” event Friday night in Natomas.
“We had 25 kids, 25 stuffed animals and six teens participate last night,” said Heather Bratt, Youth Services Librarian at the North Natomas branch.
Youngsters brought their stuffed animals to the library on Friday for a craft and bedtime story. Before leaving, they tucked their animals in for the night.
But later, under supervision of teen volunteers, the stuffies got up and played throughout the library. They got on the computers, read, played games and held puppet shows – all the things children can do when they’re at the library.
The teens took pictures of the animals in action, which were put into picture frames crafted by the stuffed animals for their owners to take home with them the next day.
