Students in the Inderkum High School music program are planning their biggest trip yet, heading to Walt Disney World in the spring.
Every two years is a travel year when the Inderkum band plans a large-scale music trip. Trips include performances, but are also meant to reward students for their hard work and dedication as members of the school’s award-winning music program.
The spring trip to Disney World is scheduled for April 8-12, 2014. Inderkum’s music ensembles will have the chance to perform as part of Disney Performing Arts. During the trip, students will also experience the Arabian Nights Dinner Show, House of Blues Orlando, Hard Rock Cafe, and La Nouba by Cirque Du Soleil.
This 2013-2014 school year has seen Inderkum’s music program expand to include Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Color Guard, Orchestra, Choir, Winter Percussion, and Winter Guard. All band members are encouraged to attend the optional trip to Orlando, Florida.
Students will begin their fundraising efforts soon and seek support from the Natomas community to make the trip a reality. Inderkum music students said they are already looking forward to representing the Natomas community this spring at “the happiest place on earth.”
Inderkum’s music program seeks sponsorships from local businesses and private donors as part of the fundraising efforts. More information on donating to the program can be found under the “Sponsors” tab at InderkumMusic.com, and by contacting music program director Shawn Hines at the school.
