Several Inderkum High School students were inducted in the National Art Honor Society last week in Natomas.
Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or above, an interest in art, photography and design and perform community service to quality for National Art Honor Society membership.
The induction ceremony was held during lunch on Oct. 24. Students were led in a pledge by teacher adviser Michelle Townsend; Inderkum Principal Heather Garcia and Vice Principal Scott Pitts were also present.
Students recited, “I will in my life, to the best of my ability through my talents in art, help to create a more beautiful world for myself, for humankind, and for all living things.”
Inderkum National Art Honor Society members include Jasmine Thorne, Tabitha Sotelo, Diana Mayo, Robert Beckman, Tahreem Shakeel, Sohrab Razai, Savannah Morris, Nancy Meza, Zamir Swangin, Mariah Regelado, Laiba Mahmood, Arooba Fiaz and Mamie Yang.
Inductees were called forward by name and given roses from by club officers Thorne and Sotelo. Refreshments were served after the ceremony.
