The brand-new North Natomas Regional Park baseball fields will officially open with a grand opening celebration this Saturday, Nov. 2.
Festivities are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the corner of New Market and Via Ingoglia drives, across the street from Inderkum High School. The first pitch will be throw by Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson.
The city broke ground on the new North Natomas Regional Park ball fields in June 2012. This first phase includes:
- One youth softball field
- One Little League field
- One senior baseball field
- Group picnic area with shade structure and group grill
- 164-stall parking lot with automataic locking gates
- Adventure area playground
- Water mister area
- Low water and maintenance landscaping and trees
- Walkways
- Site furniture (benches, picnic tables, bleachers, trash receptacles, bike rack)
Restrooms will be constructed once the federal building moratorium is lifted from the Natomas Basin.
The grand opening festivities will also include food trucks, a band, face painters and light refreshments.
