The Inderkum Tigers were crowned TCC champions Friday night, as they trounced the Natomas High School Nighthawks 71-0.
It is the fifth TCC title in six years for the Tigers, who finished the regular season at 8-2 and 5-0 in league play.
When asked about his team’s performance on the season, varsity football Coach Terry Stark had positive words and spoke to some key improvements he saw from his team.
“I think the season went pretty well,” said Stark. “We stayed healthy and progressed, our passing game came around and our defense got better. We’re in a good place right now.”
Stark pointed to areas his team would be working on heading into next week’s playoff game.
“Our temp on offense, we always want to get faster, move our feet faster and swarm on defense,” Stark said. “There are some other things our offense has been working on really hard all year and we just want to be ready because we’re going to need it in the playoffs.”
The Inderkum Tigers playoff opponent is scheduled to be announced Saturday afternoon.
71-0? No wonder Natomas HS has lost every game for three seasons. Sounds like the coaching staff is lacking skill, and the team plays like a pack of beaten puppies.
What an unsportsmanlike response, SanDiegoSacramento.
We say, “kudos” to the Nighthawks for finishing the season with heart.
For one the team of puppies only had 16 to 18 players. It’s impossible to beat a team when you have no subs and your on offense, defense, and special teams! Just know our situation before you down talk us. I give my team major props for still playing all 10 games even when we knew we were out numbered!
