A college financial aid workshop will be held tonight at Inderkum High School in Natomas.
Students and families from all schools are welcome to attend the event set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 15 in the school’s theater.
Higher education consultant Mary Gill is the scheduled presenter. She will talk about financial aid programs, such as grants, scholarships, work study and student loans, their requirements and the application process.
The seminar will cover step-by-step tips to filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The application period for the FAFSA is now open and California’s deadline is March 2.
All students are recommended to attend this seminar, whether they plan to seek a vocational certificate or pursue an associate or a bachelor’s degree. Money is available to help students and their families pay for college or job training.
Tonight’s event is a chance for Natomas students to explore their options and begin their financial aid search early, Inderkum counselor Debbie Eisberg said.
“This is a great opportunity for families of 11th and 12th graders to learn the nitty gritty details of financial aid and the FAFSA,” said Eisberg. “The event is open to all of NUSD and we encourage all to attend.”
Inderkum is located at 2500 New Market Drive.
