The District One Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is scheduled for today, Jan. 19 in Natomas.
The park beautification project is meant to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy by working together to serve the community. It’s set for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Egret Park, 5145 Westlake Parkway.
The event will include a meet and greet with Councilwoman Angelique Ashby and park beautification tasks such as weeding, tree maintenance and mulching. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants are advisable and participants are encouraged to bring work gloves and tools.
Snacks and water will be provided. A waiver is required to participate (download form here).
