Sacramento County Public officials have confirmed that a Grant Union High School student has been diagnosed with active tuberculosis.
This student is currently receiving medical care, according to a press release issued by the county.
Letters have been mailed to the parents of all students who may have been exposed to TB, the press release said. Public Health and and high school officials have scheduled a time to provide screening tests to identified students.
“We do not anticipate that there is anyone else who has contracted the disease,” said Sacramento County Public Health Officer Dr. Olivia Kasirye. “The risk of contraction is low.”
The school is working closely with Public Health.
If parents have any concerns or questions, they may call Grant Union High School at (916) 566-3450, ext. 65063.
