The Inderkum High School girls basketball season ended Tuesday night with a 57-54 loss to Vista del Lago.
Kyliyah Daniel grabbed a missed shot and scored just before the end of regulation to force overtime in the first round game of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III game held at Inderkum in Natomas.
But the Falcon’s freshman forward Sydney Larocca was too much for the lady Tigers. Larocca scored a game-high 29 points.
“We did not do a good job helping against Larocca,” Inderkum coach Phillip Hampton said. “She is very effective on what she does.”
Daniel, a junior, led Inderkum with 13 points and 18 rebounds. Sophomore guards Skymir Mitschan-Baldwin added 15 points and Natalie Capangpangan added 12 for the Tigers.
“If you walk away with something good, our two sophomores, Shymir and Natalie, stepped up,” Hampton said. “To have two sophomores play as well as they did is promising.
“Plus Kyliyah is going to continue to do great things.”
Inderkum finishes the season with a 16-11 record and had five players named to the all-TCC team including Daniel, Mitschan-Baldwin, Capangpangan, senior Cheyenne Porter-Hendrix and Athina McCaskel.
