Natomas High Schoo band teacher Mike Seto is retiring after 14 years for the Natomas Unified School District.

Over the years, Seto has taught Natomas High School’s zero-period Percussion Ensemble and Band Intermediate/Advanced to more than 200 students.

“I love the enthusiasm of of my students,” said Seto.

As a part of Seto’s classes, students have participated in more than 30 events throughout the year including football and basketball games played at home.

“We did so many events that challenged us and motivated us to work harder,” said Marilyn Gonzalez 17, a junior.

Seto’s retirement plans include traveling with his wife, working part time and maintaining friendships with students.

He also plans to substitute for music classes in the Natomas Unified School District.

“I wish him good luck and hope that he continues to pursue music,” stated Cheyenne Cook, 16, a sophomore.
