The driver who allegedly caused a multi-car pileup this afternoon in Natomas is being investigated by Sacramento Police for suspected DUI.
The accident involving up to six different vehicles occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of San Juan and Truxel roads. Sacramento Fire responded to the scene and treated those who were injured.
Two adults – a man and a woman – were transported to an area hospital to be treated for injuries sustained as a result of the accident, police spokesperson Justin Brown said. The woman, he said Sunday, sustained serious injuries.
A baby in the same vehicle was uninjured, Brown said.
That looks terrifying!
I was driving home and passed right by the accident just after the ambulances left. by just seeing the cars, it brought me to tears knowing how bad the cars were smashed and hoping no lives were lost. I’m very glad to hear that no one lost their life. I also hope that if it was caused by a driver with suspected D.U.I. that he gets punished with a hard sentence, not a slap on the rist and. Then released to get another D.U.I. and cause a possible death next time!!
These are my cousins, one is the mother of the uninjured baby and is in critical condition. That drunk SOB better hope she makes it.
How are they? What are their injuries?
They are having problems stopping the mothers internal bleeding, the other passenger has a collapsed lung and broken ribs. I sure dont know where Justin Brown got his info from, the only thing he got right was that the 8day old baby was uninjured. But he needs his mommy so lets keep her in our prayers..thank you
Christina,
i saw the cars, and i have been praying for your family to recover.( God please put your arms around this family and bring them out of this, Amen )
I do hope the proper justice is served for the DUI suspect.
Prayers to
the families. My brother Nic is the one who helped the couple and baby get out of the smoking vehicle
Please tell your brother thank you. We are extremely grateful to all those who helped..
I’m having no success in finding the fund set up to help out the mother of the 8-day old baby — could you please post this information? Thank you.
We don’t have that info.
We were in the dark suv. My wife 5 year old daughter and unborn son. We hurt all over and my daughter starts to cry when we get into a car now.
As one of the one’s who saw the aftermath of the accident I am glad that you and your family are safe. Heal and be safe.
The white Hyundai Suv had 3 people inside. …. james(18) broken ribs and punctured lung……amai(8 days old) abrasions and bruising. …Danielle (22) is left fighting for her life broken pelvis damaged liver and internal bleeding. …..we as their family ask for you to add them to your prayers. May God guide us through this terrible time as he is with us step by step.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

As a family member to the 3 that were in the white suv. The baby is ok, the passenger has 6 broken ribs and a collapsed lung, the driver the mother of the newborn baby is fighting for her life in the hospital. So out of respect please don’t post pictures or names as we are all praying and trying to focus on her getting a raise her baby that desperately needs his mommy. Thank you to everyone who helped these kids out
Everyone feels a different way about it. Im also family to the 3 in the accident. I think the more people we let know about it the more prayers and positive vibes can be sent their way. Everyone deals w things differently tho so i respect everyones opinion but I dont think anyone said anything on here out of line or disrespectful

Is there an update on this story? How is the suspected DUI driver being punished? Did the woman with the newborn baby recover? The community is wanting to know. Thank you.
Thank you for your concern. It means so much to know that the community is praying for their recovery. KOVR’s Tony Lopez is doing an interview with another family member and the baby. It will be on the news tonight. If not i will post when it will air. Again thank you. Lets just say God is good, all the time :)
Tonight on the 10 o’clock news channel 13 for the the families story
I can’t locate the fund set up to help out the baby’s mother. Can someone please post this information? Thank you.
I have been trying to put the link to the fund account, apparently the natomas buzz wont approve it.
It may be their policy to refrain from posting such a link to avoid any liability should some problem arise later. Can you just type the link inside of your comments on the Natomos Buzz? Or, can you just state the name of the bank (or credit union), the name on the account, and the account number? Thanks.
I do apolgize for the delay i was not able to see that anyone had responded.
That is not accurate.
Im pretty sure that when i posted the link it said it was waiting on your (natomas buzz) approval.
#DaniellesRecovery by kay jones is the go funnd me account for donations.
Thank you NB for covering the story. As well as keeping us updated with police response.
Has the DUI suspect been arrested yet?
SacPD tells us this crash is still being investigated & that no arrests have been made to date.
None of the victims of the crash, or their representatives, have been in contact with us, so we are unable to report any information about their conditions.
