Natomas Cops Log – Feb. 26, 2015

Incidents are from shifts starting Feb. 24, 2015:

15-052651 (Vehicle Collision ): W El Camino Ave / Stonecreek Dr at 2002 hours.
An officer came upon a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a metal light pole. The front passenger of the car was seriously injured and later died. The car was driving westbound on West El Camino Avenue when it struck the pole in the area of Stonecreek Drive. The driver was also seriously injured and transported to an area hospital. At this time alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision. The Sacramento County Corner identified the deceased as 12-year-old Elias Joel Urrutia, an area resident and student at Natomas Gateways Middle School.

15-052093 (Vehicle Collision ): 4400 block of E Commerce Way at 0958 hours.
Officers responded to a vehicle that struck an area building. The vehicle caused moderate damage to large glass windows. There were no injuries reported and no indication DUI was a factor.
