Pier 1 Imports Inc. will close its store in Natomas.
According to an email received early today, Dec. 31 by frequent Pier 1 Imports shoppers, the 3641 North Freeway Boulevard location is set to shutter.
While workers at the Natomas store said the closure is not immediate and likely will occur “in a couple of months,” the location has already been removed from the corporate Pier 1 Imports website.
Pier 1 Imports locations remain listed in the Arden area of Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Roseville, Folsom and Elk Grove.
Pier 1 Imports started as a single store in San Mateo, California, in 1962, and established its corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1966.
The company boasts more than 1,000 locations today, opening 46 new stores in the past two years – only one of which was in California.
