The California Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that nighttime construction work on the Interstate 80 “Across the Top” project in north Sacramento will cause serious delays for westbound traffic this weekend.
Westbound motorists traveling along Interstate 80 in north Sacramento can expect various ramp closures and lane restrictions from 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 through 12 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14 to complete the westbound traffic shift and extending the “Express Lanes” as part of the $133 million 80 Across the Top project.
The Following westbound I-80 ramps will be temporarily closed:
· Northgate Boulevard
· Truxel Road
· I-80/ I-5 Connector Ramp
· West El Camino Ave
Caltrans advises the public to plan ahead for these delays and allow for additional travel time or choose an alternate route. Traffic will be detoured to Reed Avenue and back onto Eastbound I-80 to access these overpasses and the I-5 interchange.
